Pressure Cleaning Ipswich

Ipswich is the region where this service does the most work, simply because there is more concrete per property. A block out at Karalee, Karana Downs or Rosewood can have a driveway thirty or forty metres long, a shed slab, a path around the house and a patio — and once mould and lichen take hold, all of it goes black together. It is also the region where doing it in one visit genuinely saves money, because the set-up and the water are the same whether we clean the driveway or the whole property. Newer estates at Ripley and Springfield have less area but lighter concrete, which shows every mark.

What we get called out for in Ipswich

  • Long driveways, paths, shed slabs and patios cleaned in a single visit on the larger blocks out west
  • Lichen, which is far more established here than closer to the coast, killed at the root rather than blasted off the top
  • Light-coloured concrete in the Ripley, Springfield Lakes and Spring Mountain estates, where every mark shows

The method itself is the same wherever we take it — the full pressure cleaning process is set out on the service page, and everything we cover in this region is on the Ipswich page.

How the job runs

What happens on the day in Ipswich

  1. We check the surface

Concrete, pavers and sandstone each need a different pressure.

  2. Mould treated

We kill it first, so it doesn’t grow straight back.

  3. Area protected

Garden beds, gutters and downpipes covered before we start.

  4. Even machine wash

A rotary cleaner gives one even finish, with no stripes.

  5. Edges and joints

Corners done by hand, and paver joints re-sanded.

FAQs

Pressure Cleaning in Ipswich — your questions

Anything not covered here, message us and we’ll answer in plain English.

Ask on WhatsApp
Is it cheaper to do the driveway, paths and patio together?

Considerably. Most of the cost of a small pressure clean is getting the machine, the water and the crew on site — once that is done, extra area is comparatively cheap. If you are thinking about the driveway, get the paths and the patio quoted at the same time and see the difference before you decide. On an Ipswich block that is often the whole property for not much more than the drive.

What is the crusty grey-green stuff that will not wash off?

Lichen, and it is far more entrenched out this way than nearer the coast. It anchors into the surface rather than sitting on it, so pressure alone tears the top off and leaves the anchor behind — which is why it comes back looking identical within a season. It needs a treatment with dwell time to kill it properly, and that is a standard part of how we do the job rather than an extra.

Why does the mould come straight back after a pressure clean?

Because pressure alone only knocks the top off it. Most of what looks like dirt on Queensland concrete is biological — mould, algae and lichen living on moisture in the shade — and the root system stays in the surface after the visible growth is blasted away. We put a treatment down that kills it first and then wash, which is why our work stays clean noticeably longer than a wash on its own.

Will pressure cleaning damage my pavers, sandstone or render?

It will if the pressure is wrong, and this is where most damage happens. Full pressure strips render, destroys sandstone, forces water behind cladding and blows the sand straight out of paver joints. We match the pressure and the method to the surface, and re-sand paver joints afterwards where the wash has opened them up.
