Floor Scrubbing & Acid Washing · Ipswich

Floor Scrubbing & Acid Washing Ipswich

Ipswich blocks are bigger and so is the concrete on them. A typical job out here is a shed slab or a double garage that has been used as a workshop for fifteen years, with oil drips, rust bleed under where something metal has sat, and a surface that has never been machine cleaned. Out in the newer estates at Ripley, Springfield Lakes and Spring Mountain it is the opposite problem — slabs only a few years old, still carrying builder's film and efflorescence, on light-coloured concrete that shows every mark.

How the job runs

What happens on the day in Ipswich

  1. We come and look

We check the floor and tell you what will and won’t come out.

  2. Small test patch

We clean a hidden corner first, so you can see the result.

  3. Area protected

Loose items moved, skirtings and drains covered before we start.

  4. Machine scrub

A heavy rotary machine does the work — not a mop.

  5. Dirty water out

We vacuum it up, then walk the floor with you.

FAQs

Floor Scrubbing & Acid Washing in Ipswich — your questions

Anything not covered here, message us and we’ll answer in plain English.

Ask on WhatsApp
There are rust marks on my shed slab from a trailer. Will they come out?

Rust bleed responds to acid washing far better than to scrubbing, because the iron oxide has soaked into the pores rather than sitting on the surface. Most of it lifts. What tends to stay is where rust has been sitting long enough to have gone right through a thin or porous slab — we test the worst patch first and tell you honestly how much you will get back before you commit.

Do you travel out past Ipswich to the rural blocks?

Yes. Karalee, Karana Downs, Barellan Point, Walloon, Marburg and Rosewood are all inside our regular run, and larger properties out that way are usually a better job for us because the machine can work uninterrupted. Tell us the total area at the quote and it is priced as one visit rather than by the hour.

Will acid washing damage my concrete?

Not at the right dilution, and that is the whole job. Acid strong enough to lift efflorescence or rust bleed is also strong enough to etch a slab permanently if it is left too long or mixed too hot, so we test an out-of-the-way section first and tell you what will and will not come up before anything goes down across the floor. If the concrete is stained through rather than dirty on top, we say so at the quote rather than charging you to find out.

What is the difference between floor scrubbing and acid washing?

Scrubbing is mechanical: a weighted rotary machine and a pad work dirt out of the surface and we extract the slurry. Acid washing is chemical, and it is for the things scrubbing cannot shift — mineral deposits, efflorescence, rust bleed and the grey film left on new concrete. Most jobs are a scrub. Acid comes out when the floor needs it, not by default.
