Strip & Seal Ipswich
Ipswich strip and seal is mostly institutional. Schools and community halls with long vinyl corridors, medical and allied health practices through Booval, Springfield and Ripley, childcare centres in the newer estates, and amenity blocks and lunchrooms attached to industrial sites. These are floors that were specified with a coating precisely because they have to be cleanable, and they fail the same way every time — the sealer wears through in the traffic lane down the centre and the vinyl underneath starts holding everything. Term breaks and shutdown periods do most of our scheduling out here.
Mon to Sun, 7:00am – 9:00pm — weekends included at no extra charge

What we get called out for in Ipswich
- School and community hall corridors booked into term breaks, pupil-free days and holiday periods
- Medical, dental and allied health practices through Booval, Springfield Central and Ripley, done between clinic days
- Amenity blocks, lunchrooms and office areas attached to industrial sites, scheduled around shift patterns
The method itself is the same wherever we take it — the full strip & seal process is set out on the service page, and everything we cover in this region is on the Ipswich page.

What happens on the day in Ipswich
Assessment
We identify the floor, the coating on it, and what condition it is really in.
Area prepared
Fittings moved, skirtings and drains masked, the area closed off.
Strip
Stripper goes down, gets its dwell time, then the old coating comes off.
Deep clean
The bare floor is scrubbed, the slurry extracted, the surface neutralised.
Dry and check
We moisture-check it. Sealer over a damp floor is what goes milky.
Seal
Three to five coats, each one cured before the next goes on.
Final inspection
We walk it with you and say when it can take foot traffic again.
Strip & Seal in Ipswich — your questions
Anything not covered here, message us and we’ll answer in plain English.
Ask on WhatsAppCan you do a school hall over the term break?
Term breaks are when most of it happens. A full hall or a corridor run is comfortable inside a two-week break with proper curing between coats, and we would rather use the break than compress the job into a weekend. Tell us the dates early — school holidays are the busiest window in this trade and they book out well ahead.
The vinyl in our practice is worn through in the middle. Will sealing fix it?
Sealing fixes a worn-out finish, not a worn-out floor, and those look similar from standing height. If the sealer has gone and the vinyl underneath is still sound, a strip and seal brings it back completely. If the vinyl itself has worn through to the backing in the traffic lane, no coating will hide that. We identify which you have at the assessment, before you commit to anything.
How long does a strip and seal take, and when can we walk on it?
The strip and the deep clean are the fast part. What sets the timeline is curing: the floor has to be neutralised and properly dry before any sealer goes on, and each of the three to five coats has to cure before the next. A typical office suite is an overnight job; a large site is staged across a weekend or a shutdown. Light foot traffic is usually possible several hours after the last coat, and we give you the exact hour before we leave rather than a guess.
Which floors can be stripped and sealed?
The ones built to carry a coating: vinyl sheet and VCT, lino, sealed concrete and some sealed tile. Unsealed timber wants sanding, not stripping. And a floor that is gouged, cupped or delaminating will still be gouged, cupped and delaminating under new sealer — a fresh coat makes a tired floor look new, but it does not repair one. We identify which you have at the assessment.
