What floor scrubbing & acid washing actually involves
A mop pushes dirt around a floor; it does not lift what has worked into the surface. We use a weighted rotary machine with the pad and chemical matched to the floor, then extract the slurry rather than leaving it to dry back into the concrete. That is the whole difference between a floor that looks wet-clean for an hour and one that stays even.
Acid washing is for the jobs scrubbing alone will not shift — mineral deposits, efflorescence, rust bleed and the grey film left on new concrete. It is a controlled process and the wrong dilution will etch a floor permanently, which is why we test a section first and tell you what will and will not come up before we start.
Common on warehouse and workshop slabs, garage floors, driveways, commercial kitchens, and the polished or sealed concrete in newer homes. If your floor is stained rather than dirty, we will say so at the quote instead of charging you to find out.

Not at the right dilution, and that is the whole job. Acid strong enough to lift efflorescence or rust bleed is also strong enough to etch a slab permanently if it is left too long or mixed too hot, so we test an out-of-the-way section first and tell you what will and will not come up before anything goes down across the floor. If the concrete is stained through rather than dirty on top, we say so at the quote rather than charging you to find out.
What is the difference between floor scrubbing and acid washing?
Scrubbing is mechanical: a weighted rotary machine and a pad work dirt out of the surface and we extract the slurry. Acid washing is chemical, and it is for the things scrubbing cannot shift — mineral deposits, efflorescence, rust bleed and the grey film left on new concrete. Most jobs are a scrub. Acid comes out when the floor needs it, not by default.
Can you clean a warehouse or workshop floor while we are trading?
Usually yes, in sections. We work around shift patterns and stock movements, close off one bay at a time and hand it back before moving on. If the slab has heavy oil contamination it needs longer dwell time, and that is easier overnight — we schedule it that way where the site allows.
Do you clean garage floors and driveways as well?
Yes. A domestic garage slab is the same job at a smaller scale, and it is often booked together with a driveway pressure clean because the machine is already on site. Oil and tyre marks are pre-treated separately before the machine goes over them.
